Garden Camp Lead Instructor – Summer 2021

We are hosting summer camp and need a lead instructor. This is a brand new, temporary position, working 23-25 hours per week for 9 weeks with an additional 20-25 hours of paid curriculum development time. Garden Camp will take place at 9 different school gardens throughout the summer, June 1 – August 6, excluding the first week in July. Pay is $20-25/hour depending on experience. The Lead Instructor will design and implement the Garden Camp curriculum to make a fun, enriching experience for 6-9 year olds. Activities will include gardening, science investigations, STEM challenges, games, nature crafts, and harvesting and preparing garden snacks.  Group size will be 10-15 children with the opportunity to break into smaller groups based on age. We intend to hire an Assistant Instructor to help with set up, supervision, instruction and clean up. 

Garden Camp Assistant Instructor – Summer 2021

The Assistant Instructor will assist the Lead Instructor in the implementation of Garden Camp including set up, supervision, instruction and clean up. Activities will include gardening, science investigations, STEM challenges, games, nature crafts, and harvesting and preparing garden snacks.  Group size will be 10-15 children ages 6-9. This person will work 22.5 hours per week for 9 weeks with an additional 5 hours of paid training. Garden Camp will take place at 9 different school gardens throughout the summer, June 1 – August 6, excluding the first week in July. Pay is $12.32-15/hour depending on experience. Internship – Summer 2021

This internship will focus on supporting our schools and staff by assisting in the maintenance of our partnering school gardens, including but not limited to: planting, irrigation work, weeding, assisting with larger upkeep and new garden builds, assisting with integrated pest management applications, promoting, set up, and clean up at fundraising events, donation assistance to local food banks and achieving food security goals, and assisting parent volunteers before, during, and after school garden lessons. Please note: we have Covid safe policies and procedures in place to protect our staff, volunteers and community members. Flexible schedule, but ideally May-October, 5-10 hours/week.
